What to Expect
As a new patient you will attend a routine podiatry appointment (approx. 30mins) to have a full assessment and confirm that you have verrucae or warts. You will have the opportunity to discuss all the options available and if SWIFT verruca treatment is right for you.
In most cases the verrucae/warts are reduced in thickness to improve comfort and alleviate any pain caused by the lesion. If you choose to go ahead with the SWIFT treatment your first treatment will be administered in this session. Many of our patients have responded successfully with just one treatment application, however, our SWIFT PACKAGE includes up to three treatments spaced approximately four weeks apart.
The treatment time is quick but times do vary depending on the number and size of the lesions.
Patients report an intense, stinging sensation that lasts for 1-2 seconds.

How does it work?
The SWIFT verruca treatment delivers microwaves that agitate water molecules and cause friction and heat which destroy the infected tissue. The heat causes the body’s immune and healing system to replace, repair and regenerate new tissue.
How safe are microwaves?
Microwaves have been in clinical use for more than 30 years and are used globally in the treatment of many medical conditions.
Microwaves are a form of NON-IONISING radiation which means they can’t cause damage to the DNA of living things. Microwaves sit between radio-waves and infrared waves in the electromagnetic spectrum – at a frequency between 300 MHz and 300 GHz. The SWIFT operates at 8 GHz.
